The zoomcare culture is fairly cult like, we barely stopped calling patients "Sarah" while we are referred to as "Emmas" all while ensuring "the perfect visit" in 15 minutes or less even if that means just rushing a patient out the door if their complaint is too complicated. My disability accomodation was denied simply due to the fact "this duty is in your job description" without any consideration of my physical or emotional well being. I, and many other coworkers have been harassed on the job where the victim is the one who gets punished or brushed aside. Where to even begin? This company preys on young college students needing job experience and overworks them for minimal pay and no respect. Anything more than 6 months you will start to feel the burn of disrespect and low pay. Tldr: Good for short term employment until you get accepted into med, PA, NP school. I would say that the only redeeming factors are the 3.5 day work week, okay healthcare benefits, and coworkers. It may be bearable to work here until you get phlebotomy certified (Which can take potentially months) but receiving little pay and not being valued in the company makes the workplace depressing. Overall, not valued as an important asset to the company.ĭespite the healthcare experience you receive, I would not recommend working for this company. Poor communication from leadership about company wide decisions. There is no in-clinic support if you are having an issue, you will have to seek help online. Most if not all communication with other coworkers occurs on slack. Clinics are typically staffed with one ZA and one ZP. If you are hired later in the year you may be stuck working on major holidays such as Christmas or Thanksgiving. You will be responsible for paying for gas or an uber upfront. If you have a home clinic, you may still be forced to provide coverage for other clinics. They bumped the hourly rate to $22 in the Seattle market but with inflation this is still inadequate as a living wage. There was a leadership change recently, yet nothing much has changed regarding ZA working conditions. Feedback about ZA working conditions and pay are never implemented despite feedback for patient experience being acted upon promptly. Tenure as a ZA means nothing to the company. No career pathing for ZAs within the company. There is truly no way to get paid more besides your annual raise of a few cents. There are a limited amount of positions for these specialties, so if there are no positions open, you are essentially stuck with no way to progress. The only way to get paid more as a ZA is to work at a specialty clinic or the Super location. Annual raises maximum are 3% - not even a dollar added to your hourly rate. Low pay for the amount of tasks given, especially if you are a busy central clinic. If you get COVID, you will have to use PTO and once that runs out, remain unpaid for the time you get sick. There is no separate sick pay - if you get sick you are forced to use your PTO. There is no possibility for part time or altered schedules. You will always be working one weekend day. ZAs either work Sunday-Wed or Wed-Sat schedules. 3.5 day work weeks are also a con for some. 401k match, fairly okay healthcare benefits (with the exception of mental health providers - it doesn’t seem like many are in network) and plan options. Some of my coworkers made a positive impact on my life that I will be forever grateful for. Having aspirational coworkers was inspiring and I always enjoyed working with them. If you are seeking higher medical education, many of your coworkers will be likeminded and share the same goals as you. If you are not at a busy clinic, you’ll have a lot of downtime to work on school work, applications, etc.

There has been much less friction between patients and ZAs due to these changes. You’ll do a fair amount of admin, minor lab work, and have some patient facing opportunities. Good way to get exposure to healthcare industry, opportunity to talk to PAs and NPs about their careers.
